"We are especially happy with how the school managed to overcome the challenges to be at its best level. My son seems to be happy and confident. A confidence mainly won through the learning process and the constant encouragement. Wishing the school the best!"

Teachers' Feedback

I have now worked at BSA for over two years and continue to relish this experience. Having worked in the UK and across the world in 26 years of teaching, I can safely say that students here are a joy to work with: they are engaged and eager to participate, full of character and curiosity. We have a huge range of nationalities with students from all over the world learning from each other and sharing cultural experiences. Class sizes are perfect and the range of opportunities for students is impressive. In terms of staff development, the school excels with regular internal and external training . I am now undertaking the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership with a renowned UK provider. It remains a pleasure to work at British School Algiers.

Michael Maddison, Head of Senior

"Teaching at BSA has been a deeply enriching experience. As someone completely new to teaching, I was initially unsure of how to approach such a diverse range of students across all phases. However, the school provided me with excellent support, including an intensive training program last August with Rose. This training introduced me to a variety of learning-oriented teaching methods that have truly shaped my approach in the classroom. What stands out at BSA is the commitment to staying updated with the best teaching methods that always prioritize the students. The school’s dedication to fostering a dynamic and student-centered environment allows me to engage my students in creative and practical ways. Each day presents new challenges, but also new insights, making this experience one of continuous growth and discovery."

"BSA is the only school that offers Algerian teachers comprehensive professional development and career training, guiding them from day one through every stage of their teaching journey. From an extensive initial training program based on British standards to the two-year ECT course following PGCE and QTS, BSA ensures continuous growth and support. As a French teacher in senior school, I truly appreciate the strong backing from the leadership team and experienced colleagues—I couldn't imagine teaching anywhere else."

Doria Bouchoucha

"My experience at BSA has been quite fruitful, starting with my experience in primary from which I learned so much about working with younger children, to working with seniors and the training I had with Rose in Summer 2024. The latter was the highlight of my journey as I was immersed in a well of knowledge about teaching methods and strategies, as well as multiple simulating workshops that were of great assistance to me later on in the classroom. In addition, the working environment is generally positive and supportive as I am often provided with the assistance needed to help fulfill my duties neatly. Overall, BSA is a fertile ground for both students and teachers to grow and develop academically and professionally."

Soumia Benrekia

"I am an English and History teacher at BSA, where I have been teaching for the past six years. My time here has been incredibly enriching and fulfilling, both professionally and personally. Throughout these years, I have undergone extensive training to become a fully qualified teacher, completing the iQTS, PGCE, and two years of ECT. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities BSA has offered me and will always cherish the support and growth I have experienced. Currently, I am the Head of English a role that, while challenging at times, has given me endless opportunities for growth and self-development. BSA was the only school to welcome me as a novice teacher, believing in me and shaping me into the teacher I am today. For that, I will always be thankful."

Sabrina Salhi

'As an Arabic teacher at British School Algiers with eight years of experience teaching Arabic, English, and Korean, I am deeply passionate about language education and fostering a love for learning in my students. I hold a Master’s degree in Arabic Language Didactics, a degree in English, and a certification in Korean language studies, all of which have shaped my diverse and adaptable teaching approach.
Since joining British School Algiers, I have been fortunate to work in a supportive and dynamic environment that values both academic excellence and personal growth. The school’s commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) has allowed me to refine my teaching methods, and my intensive training with Rose has further enhanced my classroom practices. At British School Algiers, I have found a collaborative community that encourages innovation in teaching and prioritizes student success. I am proud to be part of a school that inspires both its students and teachers to thrive.'

Imane Ouandjli

"I have had the privilege of joining the teaching staff at BSA last August, and I can confidently say that it has been the highlight of my short teaching journey. The training I received prior to the school year was the best support one could wish for as an upcoming teacher; from class management to teaching techniques, Dr. Rose Stockwell didn't hold back giving her best in shaping the team of teachers that would later shape our kids at BSA. Our school not only provides high-quality education but also prioritizes students' mental and physical well-being. BSA is the perfect place for a kid to grow academically, intellectually, and personally, preparing them to face the world beyond their school years."

Aymen Titri

Starting as a Year 1 teacher in September 2024, my experience teaching in British School Algiers is overall very positive. With a strong Head of Primary, I receive a high level of support and guidance throughout the year, fostering an environment where I can apply my teaching experience, knowledge and pedagogy effectively in the classroom. In my experience, British School Algiers, is committed to promoting a child-centred approach to learning which ensures that every child feels valued and supported. From September, the school has provided the necessary resources to support effective teaching and learning in the classroom. Additionally, the school fosters strong partnerships with parents, maintaining open lines of communication and providing guidance and support where necessary. This collaborative approach ensures that pupils at primary level receive consistent encouragement both at home and school. Overall, the positive and collaborative work culture in British School Algiers has helped me to grow professionally. Colleagues are supportive, and there is a strong sense of family and community. My current experience working in this school has been truly rewarding, and I feel truly privileged to be part of such a supportive and nurturing educational environment.
